WWF Rangers is a platform for children between the ages 6 - 11 that is mainly focussed on taking action. We looked very carefully at the online behaviour of children in this age group. They mainly use mobile devices, scan pages very quikly, don't read much, and mainly react things that visually appeal to them. We created a structure that fits this behaviour.

The homepage showcases current topics that you can easily navigatie trough, like on instagram or snapchat. Through theme pages we introduces them to subjects like environments, climates, poaching and extinction. It shows how beautiful and special animals and environments are, but also how difficult it is for many to survive in this world. More in depth information is accessible though 3 content formats: a (very) short article, video and slideshow. These open in a lightbox, which makes it very easy and quick to navigate back and forth. Once children understand that help is very much needed, they are keen to contribute. We inspire them to take action: give a talk in class about your favourite animal or bake tiger cookies to raise money. 

The visual style is based on the environments animals live in: forest, water, snow & ice, grass land. Each theme has it's own colour, pattern and typography. The orange colour emphasises content items that inspire to take action.
